Pull out the AC/DC

Big news in the Cornhusker State this week, our defense got thier Blackshirts Tuesday at practice. Although we have seen the traditional skull and crossbones on the HuskerVision this is the first time we can finally cheer "lets go Blackshirts" instead of "lets go defense" in a VERY LONG TIME. Although they gave up 422 yards of total offense to KANSAS (No offense, Eric, but its KANSAS), they did look good and hopefully will look even better Saturday against the K-State Mildcats.
Speaking of the Purple Kitties, some dude on ESPN actually thinks Turner Gill will be on the short list to fill Ron Prince's shoes...like he would EVER go to the dark side...

3 and out, Go BIG RED!

NYC

So I just got back from New York City, a friend from high school, Lena, wrote a play called Strange Bedfellows and I went up to see its first official reading! The premis of the play is that Michael Meyers (Halloween), Jason Voorhees (Friday the 13th, I think) and Leatherface (Texas Chainsaw Massacre) move in with a grad student named Jill. It was HILARIOUS and I am really glad that I got to go see it.

I was up there for Halloween weekend, I had no costume ideas so I went as Spaghetti Cat. I am trying to post the video but if it doesn't work the link is below.

Saturday we went and saw August:Osage County, it was fabulous and if you have a chance to see it GO. You will enjoy it. Saturday evening I sat in a bar for the first 3 possessions of the Nebraska game, I was so depressed that Lena and I went to the Upright Citizens Brigade theatre and saw a very funny improv herald group called Death By Roo Roo to cheer me up. When we got home we flipped between John McCain on SNL and the Texas-Texas Tech game. Lena's roommate thought I was pretty crazy that I had to watch a game involving two teams I absolutely hated.

Sunday we saw Equus, yes, the one with Daniel Radcliffe. Again, I am trying to post a picture here but who knows if its actually going to work...

The most impressive thing about the show was KATE MULGREW! She was fabulous and I truely believe that if she did Star Trek: Voyager in a Brit Accent like she did in Equus the show would have been more successful.

Overall Opinion: Very Depressing and NOT for children

We headed over to see Avenue Q after that (again, not for children but HILARIOUS) then hoofed it to Rockefeller Center to check out the pre-election hoopla. Oh Yeah, and we stopped at the Cathedral - good thing I had my Blackberry with me to take these!

Overall, NYC was a success, it was kinda weird coming back to Omaha and having to drive again (it only takes me a few hours to forget how to drive). I had three time changes in 4 days so I am suprisingly having more trouble adjusting to being back home than I thought I would but oh well! More to come soon!

Blog #1

Hey everyone, I decided to jump on the blogging bandwagon primarily because its the best way for me to follow up on my cousin's kids. Bear with me as I am trying to figure out how to work this site!
